101communications, conference organizer and publisher of Redmond and other tech magazines, wrapped up a six-month search for a suitor by agreeing to be acquired by private-equity backed 1105 Media.

Redmond, Federal Computer Week, and Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine have a new publisher, 1105 Media, a company backed by Nautic Partners and Alta Communications and partnered with Neil Vitale, formerly a group vice-president at LexisNexis owner Reed Elsevier, Inc.

Terms of the deal, including the payout to 101communications, were not disclosed. The Jordan, Edmiston Group advised 101's management on the transaction.

1105 Media receives some notable publishing properties; 101's Redmond Channel Partner most recently received a Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award. 101 runs frequent events associated with technology issues; their Knowledge Management Conference & Exhibition takes place in Washington, DC, April 19-21.

"The history of 101, its phenomenal growth from internal investments, leadership in its market segments and strong employee base are wonderful strengths to build upon. I look forward to continuing, and enhancing, 101’s success," said Vitale, who will serve as President and CEO of 1105 Media, Inc.
