SERVICES: Computer Sciences Seeks A Buyer
By: David Utter 2006-04-04 The provider of outsourced information technology and professional services is on the block, with Goldman Sachs handling the sale. With over $14 billion in revenue in 2005 and a net profit margin of 3.69%, Computer Sciences Corp (NYSE:CSC) may already be in the hands of new ownership. Investor's Business Daily noted how CSC planned to layoff 5,000 jobs, mostly in Europe. Wall Street investors cheered the news of job cuts and a potential sale, pushing CSC shares to $59.80 in trading, up from yesterday's close of $57.29. Application switching solution company Radware Ltd. (NASD:RDWR) saw analysts at Piper Jaffray and CIBC World Markets downgrade its stock. Poor performance in the North American market as noted in the company's Form 6-K filing with the SEC led the company to push its revenue forecast down to $20 million from a range of $22.2 million to $22.6 million. "The change in guidance is a result of lower than expected sales in the U.S. during the first quarter," said Roy Zisapel, President and CEO of Radware. "As we announced in January 2006, we replaced our top management in the U.S. this quarter, and started implementing a new sales plan to grow U.S sales beyond the current rate." Electronic Data Services (NYSE:EDS), down slightly to $26.96 today, announced its new CRM solution at the Gartner Outsourcing Summit in Orlando. Its Managed Customer Interaction Solution offers several components that EDS claims can streamline contact center operations while providing a total operating cost savings of up to 25 percent. "EDS' solution also provides a company greater visibility and control of its entire customer experience," said Fariba Rawhani, vice president, EDS Business Transformation Outsourcing CRM Services. --- Tags: CSC, Radware, EDS Add to | DiggThis | Yahoo!
