According to Nielsen / Netratings, Google gained almost six percentage points in search market share from 12/04 - 12/05.

Google jumped from 43.1% to 48.8%, an increase of 5.7 points. Meanwhile, Yahoo slipped 21.7% from to 21.4%, a slight drop of 0.3 market share, while MSN lost from 14.0% at the end of 2004 to 10.9% today, a 3.1 point drop. Keep in mind, that in December ‘04, MSN was using Yahoo's search results and an old engine UI, while it has since launched its own engine with its own indexing and ranking.
