Mobile Downloads Could Drive Sales Growth

Hypebot has repeatedly wondered why so few major music services have explored over the air downloads.

It seems obvious that making music an impulse buy via cell could create a sales explosion. But no one in charge at iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster or their peers seems to agree.

Just in case they need proof of our theory, GreeeeN, an act signed to Universal Music JVcastapan. has just sold one million OTA downloads of their single, "Aiuta" (roughly translates as "Love Song"). Add in other mobile configurations like ringtones, ringback tones, and video ringtones the total sales are three million.
