 Microsoft Named 5th Most Innovative 
By: Nathan Weinberg 2007-05-07 BusinessWeek released a list of the most innovative companies in the world, and Microsoft placed fifth... ... behind Apple, Google, Toyota and GE. BW cites Microsoft's 174 patents in the last five years, second only to Toyota in that group, and 11.85% revenue growth from 2001-2006, second only to Apple in the top five. Among others you might be interested in: Dell fell 8 spots to 22 as its reputation continues to slump, HP jumped from 42 to 31, Blackberry's RIM fell from 24 to 34, Nintendo made the list at 39, and even Best Buy showed up at 43.
