Google News Copyright Suit Settled

After two years Google has settled a copyright law suit that was filed by a French news agency Agence France-Presse, reports AZCentral.com.

Google was accused of posting news, headlines as well as images without the prior permission from the site. Google has paid an undisclosed amount for getting a license for AFP articles.

Eric Scherer, AFP's director for strategic planning and partnerships says, "With the other major Internet players like AOL, Yahoo or MSN, we have been licensing our content to them for years and years. And now Google has agreed to do the same thing, so we are very happy."
