Google, Opera Renew Browser Search Deal
By: Nathan Weinberg 2006-12-12 Opera has announced a deal that makes Google the default search engine in Opera, in return for a cut of advertising revenues. Link: Opera has announced For the last 15 months, Opera has been completely free to users, thanks to a deal that gets Opera some of Google's ad revenues earned from users who use the default Google search, and the deal is one that benefits users and both companies. Opera is my favorite browser (and unlike Firefox, makes it easy to add search engines), and anyone who supports it is solid in my book.
