Amazon And Slashdot's Vista Prices

As if yesterday's Vista price leak wasn't enough, Amazon has Vista listed for pre-order. The prices are similar, as you can see, via Joe Wilcox:

(Links: Amazon has Vista Listed for Pre-order, Joe Wilcox)
  • Vista Home Basic: Upgrade $99, Full $199

  • Vista Home Premium: Upgrade $159, Full $239

  • Vista Business: Upgrade $199, Full $299

  • Vista Ultimate: Upgrade $259, Full $399
The prices are similar enough to the adjusted Canadian prices, but higher, which is disconcerting. They are certainly higher than they should be, at least in my opinion. There are also a few special packages:

  • Windows Vista Home Basic Upgrade License Pack Additional License, $89.95

  • Windows Vista Home Premium License Pack Additional License, $179

  • Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade License Pack Additional License, $143

  • Windows Vista Home Premium License Pack Additional License, $215

  • Windows Vista Ultimate Upgrade License Pack Additional License, $233

  • Windows Vista Ultimate License Pack Additional License, $359

  • Windows Vista Business Upgrade License Pack Additional License, $179

  • Windows Vista Business License Pack Additional License, $269

  • All this is very interesting stuff. Additional licenses for $10-40 off can be pretty tempting.

Also, Ed Bott found a Slashdot commenter who had the real Vista prices:
Windows Vista Ultimate 1 leg 1 arm

Windows Vista Business 1 leg 1 ear

Windows Vista Home Premium 1 arm 3 toes

Windows Vista Home Basic 1 eye 1 ear (you won't be getting Aero anyway)

Windows Vista Ultimate Upgrade 1 arm 4 toes

Windows Vista Business Upgrade 1 arm

Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade 1 ear 3 toes 2 fingers

Windows Vista Home Basic Upgrade 1 eye

    All prices include your soul.
    You gotta love that.
