Imagine if the first version of Picasa with this technology can recognize familiar objects in your photos, and let you tag people so they will be recognized in all your future photos. Could be interesting if the tech could be used in Google Images, as well.

Liz Gannes says:
Neven Vision has offices in Japan, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Germany, as well as 19 families of patents, so this can't have been chump change. Investors include Anthem Venture Partners and Zone Ventures.
